Inclusive Climate Action in Jijiga
Summary
The Jijiga City Administration will implement a project with two main interventions to support the livelihoods of IDPs and rural-urban migrants in and around Jijiga. The first is rehabilitating dry valley production of the city's agricultural systemas, including tree planting, water management, and infrastructure upgrading, as well as agricultural livelihoods trainings for IDP households. The second is participatory land planning through the development of Community Action Plans to build resilience to climate shocks for communities with a high presence of IPDs and migrants. This project is in line with Jijiga's proposed project for the MMC's Global Cities Fund for Migrants and Refugees.
